Sometimes you just need to doodle, in order to get your destracting ideas down and out of your head. Now that my doodle is written, it is time to spend the next couple days on a larger, pastel, piece.
A lady needed illustrations for her children's book.(the work in this photo is incomplete) I wish I had gotten a picture of the completed work, when I finished, but today I sold my very first watercolor paintings. YAY! :D
I have had plenty of oppertunities to sell small works I have done, but this was my first comissioned sale. And it feels good to be done. :D It is amazing how much more fun it is to paint for sheer purpose of creating art to share or tell something to someone, as compared to creating works for money. In between school hours it is important to make sure and do sketches for fun. Something quick that you would not get to do in class. So, here us a 5 minute owl, before bed. Good night all, and make sure to keep doodling! Keep those artist minds fresh, with robots and owls ;)
I am going to wait to post the pastel drawing (painting?) (rendering?) I spent the entire day working on. Instead I would like to share the pies I made.
I sauteed a slew of veggies and pot roast in the cast-iron skillet, made ginger & dill rice, and layered them one after the other inside of a pizza crust dough and cooked the whole thing in crembrule type dishes (with butter & garlic on top, of course ^_^) Surged it with garlic & dill steamed carrots & broccoli on the side (love that my rice cooker has a steamer on top) and had a grand time eating lunch with the family. I have to say this is the best impromptue, bottom of the fridge ingredients, meal I have ever whipped up. I spent a good portion of the day carving in detail, to my shuttle project. Unfortunately, a piece started to fall over & as I reached across (saving it) I also cracked the whole side of the life (piece that holds all if the wings together). So I thought a photo of the ceramic cast currently sloppily added to it would be grand to share x) Hopefully it will carve out to match and fire just fine though.TIP: If your project breaks after it is bone-hard (as mine quite often do) you may still fix it, by wetting a paper towel and placing it on AND around the broken area. It's important to get the adjacent area moist, to help ensure your piece will stay whole (you don't want the tip you wet to fall off with the section you just attached)
And I believe that was my first "art-tip" on here :) But I had a 19 hour school day, so I am calling it. Night, all! |
